From Mess to Success
The McLean County Chamber of Commerce approached us with Request for Proposal (RFP) after they had hired another company to redesign their significantly outdated website. Unfortunately, the firm they hired had not delivered anything on schedule, they had stopped communicating, and the project was quickly outgrowing its budget. This left the Chamber of Commerce is a tough situation. They had heard great things about our work and asked for our help. We not only delivered ahead of schedule but on budget, and the site we produced included a ton of additional features that their previous design firm had neglected! Today the McLean County Chamber of Commerce website is an informational hub for its members as well as a great way to sign up for events online.
Social Networking and a Custom Blog
One thing the Chamber of Commerce does really well is networking its members to encourage business growth, partnerships, and friendly competition. The Chamber has mastered this art offline, so we were glad to help translate that to the online world. We've helped the Chamber establish a custom blog that matches their website. Numerous other websites subscribe to their RSS feed to republish the Chamber's news to their own websites and blogs, which drives a lot of additional traffic to the Chamber. In addition, we've helped them establish a Facebook Page, a Twitter Account and a LinkedIn Group. These tools have all helped the chamber engage more business and people online.
ChamberMaster Integration
The McLean County Chamber of Commerce uses a software program called Chamber Master to manage their membership and an online member database. We worked closely with Chamber Master to integrate numerous features from their software into the website. This minimizes the overhead of data entry for the Chamber Staff. Additionally, we took the member database and created a custom Google Map of McLean County that will allow site visitors to select an industry or member and view a map that includes pinpoint location for each member in the selected industry.
Excellence Breeds Excellence
Cybernautic was selected from a committee of other Chambers of Commerce throughout the State of Illinois to receive the 2009 Small Business Excellence Award. We were the first Small Business in McLean County to receive the prestigious award. We are not only honored to be an active member in our local Chamber of Commerce, but we are honored to serve our local community with excellence, and it means a lot to us that Chambers of Commerce from throughout the state have recognized our hard work!
