The Promise Council is a non-profit organization in Central Illinois that acts as a bridge between community resources and student’s needs as identified by teachers and staff at partner schools.
One of the biggest issues that plagued past iterations of The Promise Council website was that no one could really understand what it is that they do as an organization. This lead to low engagement from donors and volunteers.
As an organization that completely relies on two things, they needed their website to clearly communicate their purpose and convey trustworthiness and legitimacy. Their primary goals included increased awareness and community engagement, leading to more volunteers and secure online donations.
In the first year alone, The Promise Council has received over 100 individual one-time and recurring donations through their website.
This new functionality not only makes it easy for their donors, but also makes it easy to manage donations right through their website. The Cybernautic Editor is directly integrated with the payment processor, facilitating simple management of donations right through the website. With a month/year archive of all processed donations and simple export capability, this tool ensures a smooth backend process for any organization.

The volunteer page has recruited 36 new, adult volunteers to help achieve their mission of “helping schools help kids” since the launch of their website.
By creating a custom sign-up form, The Promise Council makes it easy for volunteers to express interest in the areas that they feel that they can make the biggest difference. This is especially helpful for parents or community members who may have more direct connection or proximity to a specific Promise Council school.
We leveraged their playful and colorful brand to create an engaging user experience. Their new design incorporates a user-friendly donation platform, allowing donors to easily and securely support The Promise Council, both on a one-time or recurring basis. We also built a custom volunteer contact form that allowed the volunteers to define where and how they would like to get involved.
